If the Slayer does need weapons to kill demons then why does he only have the Auto shotgun without upgrades? What happened to the others? And why no upgrades? The Demonic Crucible was never implied being used by him. The Crucible was confirmed left alone on the Hell Titan that he first slew with it. Hell, why do we even only have the auto shotgun at the start of eternal in the first place? Where's the 2016 guns? The pistol? As far as I know, the only weapon that he has during the Sentinel Crusade is his Super Shotgun. Have we even ever faced against Hell Titans? Those giant demons that are as large as the Icon that is roaming around the background? No? Then it's simply because they're Unkillable with the weapons the Slayer currently has at his disposal simply because the Icon is the only titan Demon that we can fight. That does not track at all with the Doom Slayer being a universe-buster.Д¬lick to shrink.Yes, shooting bullets at a being that was said to be capable of destroying the universe if left alone for a time would mean that it's at it's weakest and the Slayer would be able to harm it with bullets and guns that he had just picked up somewhere being littered around by ARC. The fights in the game involve shooting human-sized enemies with handheld weapons. Accepting your interpretation involves ignoring basically everything in the game. There is no evidence that the Slayer, as of Doom Eternal, is capable of destroying universes or surviving the destruction of universes. The universe is not destroyed as a side effect of their battle - at most, a few buildings are. Neither the Slayer nor the Icon display anything even approaching universe-busting firepower. In Doom Eternal the Slayer defeats the Icon of Sin by hitting it with bullets and rockets and then sealing it with the crucible. We're talking about the Doom Slayer as of Doom Eternal, as per the OP.
